I feel so stupid just now getting into Battlestar Galactica. I don't have cable and finally have the chance to see it on NetFlix. For years my Hollywood friends have been telling me to see it, how it is the best reboot of a sci-fi series we grew up with.
But to all my new Yogi friends, I love the music to it! If you are a Yogi and love sci-fi, the opening theme to the show should come as no surprise to you. It is the Gayatri Mantra. The characters on the series sing Sanskrit mantras when they are in prayer and gatherings. Since it is considered one of the oldest languages, it would come to reason that it came from beings from beyond the stars.
